Merry Christmas One and All!

After all the whirl involved in launching my little business Mr B’s Button Jamboree, it has been nice to focus on other things…in particular Christmas!  I absolutely love Christmas – the food, the presents, the music, everything. My favourite part though is the decorations. Sitting there with just the Christmas lights on is one of my favourite times of the whole year.  So I thought I would share some of our Christmas decorations with you.  Happy Christmas!

10 days on…

….and I have received my first ‘wages’!!  I know it is not a life changing amount yet I cannot explain how proud and excited I was when this email popped into my inbox. I have had 5 orders in total in just over a week and must admit to being pretty chuffed with that.

I have made a whole heap of new products and listed them on my Etsy shop. Here is a group shot of them all before they went on sale.

My focus now is to investigate some ideas for some different products and continue to get my head round this social media business.  Am not a natural seller or good at drawing attention to myself so some work is needed there.  Oh and there is a little thing called Christmas to be enjoying too!

Open at last!!!

Yep my Etsy shop is finally open! And even better than that, I have made my first sale! Okay it was from a friend (huge thank you to him!), still it is my very first sale…hopefully the first of many.

It was quite a nerve wracking experience listing my products and opening my shop – though nothing compared to how scared I was actually letting my friends know! Being an incredibly anxious person, I am seriously proud of myself for actually managing to put myself in this situation…even if I am finding it a little hard. Seeing my products online and available to sell was such an amazing feeling and actually seeing one parcel ready to go off to a buyer…wow!

Final Countdown!

Well my products have had their close ups (done by my very talented husband colobusyeti  – check out his blog here) and the next step is to list them on my Etsy shop!! So that’s my job for this afternoon. It is hard to believe that after all this time, I am about to see my little business venture out into the big wide world – and in time for Christmas too. Wish me luck people!

Non-work wise, we went to our first gig up North yesterday – to see the absolutely amazing Lau. If you like highly creative music, folk music that just builds and lives – I can’t recommend them enough. We had seen them once before at Glastonbury though we had both forgotten how brilliant they are…Phillip had even forgotten ever seeing them! After last night we have no idea how we had managed to forget them, I blame the cider myself…

Getting close!

…..and I have products ready to put up for sale!!!

Having spent a long time reading up on running a small business, designing my logo, preparing business cards and sorting out all the little things needed, I thought it was about time I actually made some products to sell!

It was quite scary to know that I was making these to sell…am sure it took me longer than usual to make them. Now though they are ready for their close-ups so I can put them up for sale. Exciting times!
